Brick and Tile Museum, Bridgwater

Discover the history of the brick and tile industry in Bridgwater. On the site of the Barham Brothers former works , the core of this museum is the town's only remaining tile kiln. Demonstrated inside are the methods and processes involved in making the impressive variety of bricks, tiles, terracotta plaques and other wares that create the ‘look’ of Somerset towns like Bridgwater, Burnham and Glastonbury.

Clay in Action

Enjoy an interactive 90 minute workshop at this fascinating former factory, and explore the untold history of the brick and tile industry in Bridgwater. Tour the brick kiln area, make a traditional clay tile with expert help, and feel history come to life at your fingertips! Tiles will be fired after your visit, and can be collected approximately one month later.
