Devon Archives and Local Studies
Devon Archives and Local Studies holds a large and fascinating collection of records and published works relating to Devon's rich and varied past. We are based at Devon Heritage Centre, Exeter with a branch at North Devon Record Office, Barnstaple. Devon Heritage Centre includes the holdings of the West Country Studies Library and the library of the Devon and Cornwall Record Society.

Opening Times

Tuesday to Friday: 10.00 am-5.00 pm

One Saturday each month: 9.00 am-1.30 pm
​
Documents required on a Saturday should be ordered by noon on the previous Friday. Please see our 'Planning a Visit' page for further information about visiting on Saturdays.

The office is closed on Mondays, and on public and bank holidays.
